As COP30 continues in Belém, communities across Ireland joined the Global Day of Action to call for urgent, fair and people-centred climate solutions.
In Dublin, an inter-faith gathering at the Garden of Remembrance brought together Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist and other faith traditions before the march. Representatives from more than 60 groups filled the streets, urging leaders to protect the planet and the most vulnerable.
In Belfast, community members, families, students and faith voices gathered with banners calling for accountability from major polluters and for a transition that leaves no one behind. Messages such as “Our poverty is their profit” and “Green future or no future” captured the spirit of the day.
Members of Join the Dots Together took part in both cities, standing alongside many others in solidarity with frontline communities in the Amazon and around the world.
From Dublin to Belfast, the call is united:
Climate justice cannot wait.

Focolare is a global Catholic lay movement founded in 1943 in Italy by Chiara Lubich. Its name means “hearth” or “family fireside” in Italian. The movement focuses on promoting unity and universal brotherhood among all people, regardless of their background or beliefs. Focolare works to foster dialogue and peace across religious, cultural, and social divides. The movement is inspired by the teachings of the Gospel and aims to live out Jesus’ prayer for unity (“that they may all be one”). It emphasizes love, mutual understanding, and community-building, with projects in education, ecumenical dialogue, social work, and more.
