The 2026 European Christian Environmental Network Assembly will gather in Brussels from Saturday 29 August to Wednesday 2 September 2026, in the Franciscan Training Centre, Maison Notre-Dame du Chant d’Oiseau. The overarching theme, “Renewing our passion for creation in a time of trial”
The markhor (Capra falconeri) is an iconic and ecologically significant species found across the mountainous regions of Central and South Asia, including Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The greatest threats to the survival of the markhor are habitat loss, illegal hunting, including poaching, and climate change.
A meeting focusing on Lough Neagh. The speaker will be Prof Jim McAdam. Jim worked in agricultural and environmental research in the Government sector in Northern Ireland (with the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute – AFBI) and Queen’s University Belfast.
