Deadline for applications for the JUST TRANSITION COMMISSION

DAERA has launched a public appointments process to recruit a Chair and 15 Members for Northern Ireland’s new Just Transition Commission. Established under the Climate Change Act (NI) 2022, the Commission will provide independent oversight of just transition measures and advise government departments on ensuring climate policies are fair and inclusive. Members will be drawn from a range of sectors including academia, agriculture, energy, transport, environmental groups, trade unions, rural communities and youth groups. Applications close at 12 noon on 25 June 2026. DAERA is encouraging organisations to share the opportunity with interested individuals and networks.
