Coming up on Earth Day, 22nd April.
A participatory conference in Belfast to explore “An Economy of Enough in a Time of Crisis and Opportunity.” Building on recent conversations emerging from the Season of Creation
The Season of Creation is an annual Christian observance that takes place from September 1st to October 4th. It is a time when Christians around the world come together to pray, reflect, and take action on caring for the environment and addressing ecological concerns. The observance begins on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (September 1st) and concludes on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4), the patron saint of ecology in the Catholic tradition. The Season encourages prayer, education, and advocacy for environmental stewardship. Experts include Lorna Gold, Director of Laudato Si’ International who will take part in a World Café–style process where participants engage directly with practitioners and innovators exploring alternative economic models — from wellbeing and communion-based economies to cooperatives, community energy and feminist economics.
Convened by Join the Dots Together in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast, the Economy of Francesco and other collaborators, the event aims to strengthen relationships across communities and inspire practical collaboration towards an economy that is truly “enough” for people and planet.
