The lecture, “Care for Creation Amidst the Cries of War – Working for Peace in the Earth Community,” was delivered by Hugo Slim, Director of the Las Casas Institute for Social Justice at Blackfriars Hall, part of the University of Oxford. A leading thinker on humanitarian ethics, war and aid, he has worked with organisations such as the United Nations, Save the Children and the International Committee of the Red Cross, bringing together academic research with frontline humanitarian experience.
In this lecture for Trócaire, Dr Slim reflects on the profound links between war, climate crisis and the ethical responsibility to care for our common home, echoing the call to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.
