Act for Peace and the Planet this “Season of Creation”
This year, the Season of Creation
The Season of Creation is an annual Christian observance that takes place from September 1st to October 4th. It is a time when Christians around the world come together to pray, reflect, and take action on caring for the environment and addressing ecological concerns. The observance begins on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (September 1st) and concludes on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4), the patron saint of ecology in the Catholic tradition. The Season encourages prayer, education, and advocacy for environmental stewardship. Read more about the Season of Creation » More is more urgent than ever. With Northern Ireland having declared a climate emergency, the time for promises is over—the time for action is now.
“Join the Dots Together” is calling on people of faith and goodwill to take a stand. Your voice and your choices can make a real difference.
Here’s how you can get involved:
• Participate in our key events, including discussions on “Migration Today and Tomorrow,” “Economics for Peace and Planet,” and “Many Voices, One Peace.”
• Engage in the DAERA Climate Action Plan consultation process and help shape the policies that will define our future.
• Attend a public meeting near you in September and early October. There are events in Craigavon, Enniskillen, Ballymena, Newry, Ballynahinch, Omagh, Derry/Londonderry, and Coleraine. An online event is also available.
The world needs action, not just words. This is our chance to act for peace, for the planet, and for the generations to come.
Stay up-to-date with all the events by checking the Join the Dots Together website.
