A creative competition to mark 10 years of Laudato Si’
2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for our common home. This document has inspired millions across the globe—of all faiths and none—to reflect on our responsibility to care for the Earth, especially the most vulnerable among us.
To celebrate this milestone, a special video competition for young people aged 12–19 is being launched under the theme “One Minute for the Planet.” It’s an exciting invitation for students, youth groups, and solo creators to grab their phones and tell the world—in one powerful minute—what caring for our planet means to them.
🌍 Why this matters
In a world facing climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental injustice, young people are leading the call for urgent action. This competition offers the chance to share their voice, their vision, and their values and to learn from faith-based creation care messages across different traditions. Whether you’re moved by the wonder of a local stream, concerned about plastic waste, or inspired by your faith community’s teachings on ecology, your story matters.
This initiative also resonates deeply with the mission of Join the Dots Together, which seeks to build bridges across communities through shared concern for the planet. The competition aligns with Pope Francis’ message and echoes the wisdom of many religious traditions that remind us we are stewards, not owners, of the Earth.
