Northern Ireland is the first region in the UK to host Repair Week and it is an important step in raising awareness of repair and its role in keeping cherished and useful items in use for longer.

Key Events to Look Forward To:

  • Repurpose at Love Your Home: On March 7th, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Habitat for Humanity will host interactive repurposing activities suitable for all ages at the Eikon Exhibition Centre in Lisburn.

  • Revive and Rewear: Scheduled for March 5th, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, Vincent’s Belfast, in collaboration with Sue Bamford from Tools for Solidarity, will focus on visible mending techniques to breathe new life into pre-loved items.

  • Repair Café: On March 8th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Repair Café Belfast invites community members to bring in broken items—be it a faulty toaster, a wobbly chair, or a torn jacket—for free repair assistance from skilled volunteers.

  • Bike Maintenance Session: Taking place on March 6th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Cregagh Community Centre in Belfast, this session offers safety checks and basic maintenance tips to get your bike ready for spring.

  • Pre-Loved Fashion Show: On March 6th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, St Colm’s High School in Draperstown will showcase fashion for all ages, featuring upcycled and repaired items, with outfits available for purchase post-show.
