On Friday, 13th December, members of the “Join the Dots Together” Steering Group met with MLA Paula Bradshaw (Alliance Party) in her office on the Ormeau Road. It was a great opportunity to update Paula on our recent activities and discuss plans for the future.
We shared the success of the “Our Voices Matter” schools event during the Season of CreationThe Season of Creation is an annual Christian observance that takes place from September 1st to October 4th. It is a time when Christians around the world come together to pray, reflect, and take action on caring for the environment and addressing ecological concerns. The observance begins on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (September 1st) and concludes on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4), the patron saint of ecology in the Catholic tradition. The Season encourages prayer, education, and advocacy for environmental stewardship. We also discussed other initiatives, including the recent Human Rights Day lecture organized by the NI Interfaith Forum and upcoming plans for 2025 including participating in the 4 Corners Festival and International World Interfaith Harmony Week event in February. Paula’s support and ideas were greatly appreciated. We’re looking forward to working with her (and other politicians) and to progressing our plans in the months ahead!
