SUMMARY:Pig Feast : Colonialism in our Times
DESCRIPTION:Indigenous communities in West Papua are speaking out to protect the\ntropical forest. Over 2.5 million hectares of forest are being clearcut\nfor industrial biofuel plantations. Oil palm and sugar cane ventures are\nencroaching on ancestral lands and old-growth rainforest. Combining\nvivid on-the-ground footage with investigative research\, the film traces\nhow grassroots social movements are confronting politicians\, investors\,\nmilitary actors\, and churches. \nFilm run-time: 90 minutes\, panel discussion plus Q&A 1 hour.
