Glaciers are very important for keeping our planet cool and giving us fresh water. But sadly, because of climate change, which is mostly caused by humans, these precious resources are melting away way too fast. To raise awareness about this, the United Nations has declared 2025 as the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation. This year the focus is on protecting the ice caps and making sure that the people who depend on them, as well as those who are affected by changes in the climate, have access to the water and weather information they need.
